Brent began his career lurking around the comedy and variety department at the CBC in Toronto. He then moved to CTV with the launch of The Comedy Network where he eventually oversaw programming, development and production. Brent then landed in New York as SVP of Comedy & Animation for MTV, developing and managing close to twenty series for the cable network. In 2014, Brent shifted into producing with his own shingle, Picture Arcade, before joining Shout! Studios, in Los Angeles, as Head of Content Development. With his return to Canada as head of Local Originals for Amazon Studios, Brent is on a mission to tell exceptional, world class Canadian stories. Brent also has trouble with the word “cayenne” but isn’t afraid to use it in a recipe.
