When C21 announced in October we planned to bring our market-leading ‘Content’ franchise to Budapest, it was to create a new kind of event designed to stimulate business across Central and Eastern Europe, in addition to connecting the international programming community with local buyers.
Regional players told us they wanted to act local, but think global, and we felt well positioned to meet this need, delivering a progressive event connected to our market-leading publishing products and digital screenings platform.
With NATPE in Chapter 11, we began planning an event that would take the old Budapest model to the next level.
Content Canada will facilitate business both internationally and across CEE, bringing the leading regional buyers, commissioners and producers together to not only to connect them with the global business, but also with each other.
And like all C21 events, from Content Americas, Content LA and Content Canada; to the multi award-winning Content London, it will do that in the most progressive way.
More than 500 buyers are being invited to Content Canada, alongside another 200 commissioners and senior executives from channels, platforms and production companies across the region.
We are also bringing the world’s programming community to the event, to ensure new partnerships and opportunities are front and foremost for buyers attending the event.
C21 has retained the full team responsible for delivering previous Budapest markets, adding its expertise in programming and event organisation.
We have also contracted MRM, the team behind Kyiv Media Week, to consult on the event, helping to deliver an unrivalled conference programme around the CEE100, a new initiative to celebrate the 100 executives, channels, platforms and producers defining the future of content across Central and Eastern Europe. This will be launched at Content Canada.
C21 has also raised the bar on the venue, situating Content Canada at the Five Star Kempinski hotel between 27-29 June. This hotel is without equal in the city, with superb market floor, meeting rooms and screenings suites. It also hosts a variety of bars and restaurants, including Nobu. The price for stay and exhibition has been kept low.
Content Canada will also see the return of the legendary Boat Party, with all delegates invited.
